Encavis AG Expands with Acquisition of Wind Farm in Germany

Encavis AG, a Hamburg-based operator of wind and solar parks, has acquired a wind farm in Bad Gandersheim, Lower Saxony. Originally developed by Energiequelle GmbH, the wind farm has been connected to the grid since February 2024.

This acquisition increases Encavis AG's total wind energy generation capacity in Germany to approximately 322 MW. The site features an Enercon E-160 wind turbine, standing at 166 meters, and is expected to generate around 16.4 GWh of green electricity annually. The electricity output is guaranteed via an EEG feed-in tariff with a 20-year term, while Enercon handles maintenance of the turbines.

Located about 40 kilometers south of Hildesheim, this move aligns with Encavis AG’s strategy to enhance its renewable energy portfolio.
