Encavis Asset Management AG Sets Groundbreaking for Germany's Second Largest Solar Park

On March 6, 2024, Encavis Asset Management AG (Encavis AM), an influential player in sustainable energy investment, celebrated the initiation of construction for Germany's soon-to-be second largest solar park. Situated in Bartow, about 150 km north of Berlin, the solar park is a cornerstone project under Encavis Infrastructure Fund IV (EIF IV), promising to elevate the country's renewable energy capabilities significantly.

With a sprawling area of 205 hectares and a total capacity of 260 megawatts (MW), the Bartow solar park is poised to be a monumental project in green energy generation. The construction is set to take place in two phases, starting in March 2024, with full commissioning expected by summer 2025. Once operational, the solar park will generate approximately 270,000 megawatt hours (MWh) annually, supplying green electricity to around 96,000 households while preventing the emission of over 100,000 tons of CO2 each year.

Encavis AM showcases its commitment to accelerating renewable energy initiatives through this flagship project in the EIF IV portfolio. "This project underscores our expertise in renewable energy investments and our dedication to the energy transition," stated Karsten Mieth, Board Spokesperson at Encavis AM. The EIF IV fund, catered to credit institutions and other institutional investors seeking stable cash flows, is currently open for investment, with BayernLB as the exclusive offeror.

The project not only amplifies Encavis AM's presence in the renewable sector but also enhances its parent company, Encavis AG's, standing as a leading independent power producer in Europe. With a collective capacity nearing 3.6 GW, Encavis Group continues to assert its significant contribution towards reducing CO2 emissions and promoting sustainable energy solutions.
