ENCAVIS Connects Borrentin Solar Park to German Grid
Hamburg-based Encavis AG has successfully commissioned its solar park in Borrentin, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. The 114 MW facility, constructed by BELECTRIC, significantly boosts its grid-connected capacity in Germany to 700 MW. The solar park, encompassing 200,000 solar modules over an area equivalent to 135 football pitches, is expected to produce around 121 GWh of green electricity annually.
This project aligns with Encavis' objective to achieve a 7 GW connection to the European grid by 2027. The Borrentin site also supports Allego's electric vehicle charging stations under a 10-year power purchase agreement.
BELECTRIC's Managing Director, Thorsten Blanke, highlighted the rapid completion of the project, which adds to over 1.2 GW of solar power installed by the company in Germany. The solar capacity matches the output of a nuclear power plant.
