Energiekontor Adjusts 2026 Earnings Forecast Amid Delays

Energiekontor AG has revised its 2026 financial year earnings projection, significantly lowering its expected consolidated EBT from a range of 40-60 million euros to 5-10 million euros. The adjustment follows delays in grid connection for several wind park projects in Scotland, affecting planned project sales. This unforeseen change emerged after the half-year financial report, with delays in grid connection expected to push earnings contributions into the next financial year.

Legal proceedings challenging the approval for the overhead transmission line construction have postponed grid connection dates from 2029 to 2031. This affects projects with a combined capacity of 1.4 gigawatts. A court decision is anticipated in the first half of 2027. The wider UK project pipeline is still awaiting grid connection offers as part of the NESO grid reform, expected by mid-September 2026.
