Epitome Therapeutics Secures €4 Million in Funding
Epitome Therapeutics, based in Vienna, announced its launch with €4 million in total funding, following a successful pre-seed round. The funding includes an oversubscribed €2 million pre-seed round and an additional €2 million from non-dilutive grants. Key investors include XISTA Science Ventures and Caesar Ventures, along with grants from Austrian institutions.
The funds will advance the development of Epitome's CADENCE platform, which is designed for precise regulation of gene expression. This technology, originating from EMBL research, offers a new therapeutic approach, targeting diseases with dysregulated gene activity, such as rare and metabolic disorders.
Co-founded by Dr. Guido Gualdoni and Dr. Jamie Hackett, Epitome Therapeutics aims to bring significant advancements in gene expression regulation, moving towards the nomination of drug candidates and team expansion. Investors were drawn to the groundbreaking potential of the CADENCE platform in providing precise control of gene dosage, a pivotal aspect in treating genetic and complex diseases.
