Eramet has successfully delivered its first lithium carbonate production from the newly launched Centenario plant in Salta Province, Argentina. This plant is the first to employ Eramet's Direct Lithium Extraction (DLE) technology at an industrial level, aiming for sustainable and efficient production of battery-grade lithium carbonate for electric vehicles.

The Centenario facility is designed for an annual output of 24,000 tons of lithium carbonate. The completion of the plant occurred in under three years. The resource potential at Centenario-Ratones holds over 15 million tons of Lithium Carbonate Equivalent, supporting future capacity expansion.

In October, Eramet regained full control of its lithium business in Argentina by acquiring the remaining share of its joint venture partner. According to CEO Christel Bories, the project reached this milestone amidst technical and environmental challenges, with plans to enhance production throughout 2025.
