Eurobattery Minerals Seeks Strategic Status for Key Projects
Eurobattery Minerals AB plans to apply for strategic project status under the EU’s Critical Raw Materials Act (CRMA) for its San Juan tungsten project in Spain and Hautalampi battery mineral project in Finland. The initiative supports the EU's aim to secure a sustainable supply of critical materials. The application deadline is 15 January 2026.
The San Juan project aims to responsibly produce tungsten locally, aiding Europe's sustainability transition. With a strategic partnership with Wolfram Bergbau und Hütten, the project promises to boost local economic growth in Galicia, Spain.
Hautalampi, in Finland, focuses on nickel-cobalt-copper resources. The project is aligned with EU goals, aided by industry partnerships with Boliden AB and Terrafame Ltd., emphasizing Europe’s green and digital transitions.
