Faraday Copper Reports Strong Metallurgical Results for Copper Creek Project
Faraday Copper Corp. has released encouraging metallurgical results for its Copper Creek project in Arizona. The company's program, overseen by ALS Metallurgy and Ausenco Engineering, aimed to evaluate open pit mill feed material from the American Eagle area via coarse particle flotation. Results indicated copper rougher recoveries of 95% on sulphide composites at a coarser grind size than previously assumed, offering a potential reduction in processing costs and increased mill throughput.
The tests showed that applying a primary grind of 350 microns maintained high copper recoveries, rivaling conventional flotation circuits with a finer 200 micron grind. This improvement could lead to a 50% reduction in ball mill energy consumption. Continued tests on near-surface materials demonstrated over 92% locked cycle copper recoveries at a concentrate grade of approximately 31% copper, suggesting a low-capital, efficient approach with clean concentrate results.
