FCC Environmental Services Expands Operations in St. Paul with New Contract

FCC Environmental Services has secured a key municipal contract with the City of Saint Paul, Minnesota. The contract, valued over $115 million, is tasked with the responsibility of solid waste collection covering 90% of the city, servicing around 300,000 residents. The contract is scheduled to begin on November 1, 2024, and will span seven years.

As a part of this agreement, FCC is set to invest in sustainable technologies including a new Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) station and the addition of over 30 new CNG-fueled collection trucks. Moreover, the fleet will be expanded to include fully electric vehicles for route managers and bulk pickup tasks. This upgrade aims to enhance efficient waste management while supporting a cleaner environment.

Dan Brazil, CEO of FCC and a Minnesota native, expressed enthusiasm about the expansion into the Midwest, noting the contract's strategic importance in growing FCC's geographic footprint. This initiative follows the company’s successful operations in Omaha, established in 2020, underscoring FCC’s ongoing commitment to sustainability and community-focused services.
