FE Battery Metals Receives Exploration Permit for the Augustus Lithium Property
FE Battery Metals Ltd. (CSE:FE) has announced it received the exploration work permit from Quebec's Ministry of Natural Resources and Forests (MRNF). Information meetings with local municipalities and First Nations communities facilitated the permit approval. This milestone allows the company to advance its 2024 exploration program on the Augustus Lithium Property.
The exploration program will start mid-September 2024 and include trenching, stripping, and channel sampling. New soil sampling grids will also be established to identify further lithium targets. Geological Consultant Afzaal Pirzada has reviewed the scientific and technical details of this initiative.
New regulations in Quebec from May 2024 require an authorization (ATI) from the MRNF for impact-causing exploration work. This includes activities such as hydraulic machinery use, rock stripping, and drilling. Low-impact exploration and activities within certain areas do not require ATI.
The ATI is issued based on the proponent's interaction with local municipalities and Indigenous communities and upon filing a completed application form. This form must identify the zone of interest, work duration, and provide a report on community exchanges.
