FidAR WoB Index Highlights Stagnation in Female Representation

The latest FidAR WoB Index reveals a stagnation in the proportion of women on supervisory boards of German listed companies, while growth on management boards is also slowing. The proportion fell to 37% among firms listed on the DAX, MDAX, and SDAX. In contrast, women's representation on management boards is now at 19.9%, reflecting a slow but ongoing increase.

Despite legal measures, such as gender quotas, some companies still report zero women in key positions. While 80% of surveyed companies achieve a 30% representation on their supervisory boards, the number of companies with no women on management boards has risen to 70.

FidAR leaders call for more fixed quotas and extended standards to include more companies for broader change. Federal Minister for Women Karin Prien emphasizes the importance of fair chances for women, linking this to sustainable business success.
