FireFly Automatix Welcomes The Santaluz Club as First AMP Customer in Golf Industry

FireFly Automatix has announced that The Santaluz Club in southern California is the first golf community to deploy its AMP electric, self-driving mowers. After more than two months of usage, The Santaluz Club projects annual savings of approximately $115,000, attributing it to the replacement of diesel-powered fairway mowers.

Located near San Diego, The Santaluz Club is a high-end, member-owned community centered around a 7,112-yard golf course designed by Rees Jones. Under the guidance of Jeff Miller, Director of Agronomy, the club has embraced the AMP mowing platform, known for its efficiency and environmental benefits.

The AMP mowers feature LiDAR-enabled obstacle detection, RTK-corrected GPS, and advanced battery technology, allowing for up to 25 acres of mowing per charge. The mowers have increased productivity, cutting fuel costs by about $15,000 annually and saving approximately 2,000 labor hours per year.

According to FireFly Automatix, the success of The Santaluz Club with AMP demonstrates the platform's potential to revolutionize the golf and turfgrass industries by drastically lowering operational costs and environmental impact.
