First Breach Secures Federal Explosives License for Drone Manufacturing
First Breach Inc., a U.S. defense technology manufacturer, has obtained a Type 23 Federal Explosives License from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF). This license, effective until September 1, 2029, enhances the company's capacity to manage regulated materials needed for its U.S.-made attritable strike drone platforms. According to CEO Jeffrey Low, this milestone offers a strategic edge in the attritable drone market.
The new license enables the company to import explosives legally, expanding the operational capabilities at its Hagerstown, Maryland facility. This development aligns with prior announcements to increase drone production by Q2 2027, aiming for a capacity of 2,500 drones weekly. Despite this growth, any future operations will follow all relevant U.S. regulations and approvals. The expanded capabilities complement First Breach's existing licenses and compliance infrastructure.
