FLORENTAISE: Expansion in China and ecological commitments
FLORENTAISE, a French company, announced new collaborations with Chinese partners for the management of agricultural waste and the production of biochar. These agreements include the creation of joint ventures and the signing of an exclusive agreement for the use of the biochar generated.
The company has established two new entities: GREENCHAR HK for the manufacture of agricultural waste pyrogasification equipment and FUTAN to valorize these wastes. FUTAN, in particular, focuses on converting waste from crops such as rice, wheat and corn into renewable energy and biochar.
A pyrogasification facility is planned in Jiaxing, with an estimated annual production of 8,400 tonnes of biochar and 19,000 tonnes of carbon credits. These FLORENTAISE activities are consistent with China's goal of carbon neutrality by 2060, significantly weighting its ecological commitment in the region.
This commitment is also marked by a letter of intent from the Jiaxing government, which provides for the purchase of electricity from nine new facilities. These facilities will produce up to 190,000 tonnes of carbon credits per year, intended to be marketed mainly in Europe and the United States, projecting substantial revenues for the company.
