Forum Asset Management Launches ALMA @ Cabbagetown: Aiming to Tackle Toronto's Student Housing Shortage
Forum Asset Management has introduced ALMA @ Cabbagetown, a development in Toronto targeting the city's student housing crisis. Situated at 307 Sherbourne Street, the project responds to the acute shortage of accommodation for students, with only 170,000 beds available nationwide for over 1.5 million students. This scarcity is pushing students into the general rental market, exacerbating housing demand and costs.
ALMA @ Cabbagetown will provide 192 units and 236 beds, featuring small, self-contained, and fully furnished apartments. The development aims to create a community-oriented environment with amenities like a library, fitness studio, and co-working spaces. ALMA will also use geothermal systems to cut carbon emissions and costs.
The project aligns with Forum's strategy to offer quality and affordable solutions to combat housing shortages, enhancing students' academic and personal growth through innovative designs.
