Free First Aid and CPR Workshop in Toronto - Train The Next Hero August 11th, 2024

Coast2Coast First Aid & Aquatics, in partnership with the Canadian Red Cross, announced the "Train The Next Hero" initiative, aimed at enhancing community safety and preparedness. Taking place on August 11, 2024, in North York, Toronto, this free workshop offers vital CPR and first-aid training.

The event addresses the urgent need for first-aid skills in emergencies, such as cardiac arrests and choking incidents. Co-director Aryan Sekhavati expects over 500 attendees this year. Another co-director, Ashkon Pour-heidary, cites the 2018 van attack as the motivation behind the initiative, aiming to reduce the "bystander effect."

Participants will receive hands-on training from certified instructors, covering CPR, choking management, heart attacks, strokes, and opioid overdoses. The event promotes a culture of safety and preparedness.
