Friedrich Vorwerk Secures Major Contract for Offshore Grid Projects BalWin3 and LanWin4

Friedrich Vorwerk Group SE, specializing in energy infrastructure, announced that it has won the contract to realize the land cable connections for the offshore grid connection projects BalWin3 and LanWin4. The contract, awarded by Nexans, covers the entire onshore sections, approximately 45 km each, from Lower Saxony's coast to a future converter station in Wilhelmshaven. The project is valued well into the three-digit million range.

The BalWin3 and LanWin4 projects by TenneT are crucial to Germany's energy transition, facilitating the transfer of green electricity from North Sea wind farms to the mainland. Each connection spans over 220 km and has a capacity of 2 GW, aimed at supplying up to 5 million German households with renewable electricity.

As Germany plans comprehensive electrification to double electricity consumption by 2045, Friedrich Vorwerk is poised for growth. The company expects increased demand due to its extensive experience and technology portfolio in land cable construction, aligning with Germany's ambitious investment program for electricity infrastructure.
