Future Fuels Obtains Permits for Hornby Basin Exploration
Future Fuels Inc. announced the receipt of permits to initiate exploration at the Hornby Basin Project in Nunavut, located southwest of Kugluktuk. This marks a significant step as the company prepares to execute its Phase One exploration plan. The approved fieldwork in 2025 includes a ground gravity geophysical survey, carried out over 12 square kilometers, with support from geological consultants.
The survey aims to identify prospective uranium and copper mineralization systems. Notably, the Nunavut Planning Commission has confirmed that the project requires no environmental screening, clearing regulatory hurdles for Future Fuels to progress.
Looking forward to 2026, Future Fuels plans to undertake a 10,000-meter diamond drilling campaign, depending on the results of the current field season. This exploration effort is supported by continuous community engagement and strict environmental management protocols.
