Genel Energy PLC Updates on Kurdistan Oil Exports
Genel Energy PLC has responded to reports on agreements between Iraq's Federal Government, the Kurdistan Regional Government, and international oil companies. These agreements aim to restart oil exports from Kurdistan to Ceyhan via pipeline. The company is optimistic about this progress and suggests that minor adjustments to the proposed terms and a payment plan for overdue receivables would facilitate a successful export resumption.
Genel Energy remains in collaboration with partners and governments to establish necessary conditions quickly. Notably, DNO ASA, the operator of the Tawke PSC, has expressed a positive outlook towards the resumption, provided payment guarantees for past and future exports are ensured. Both DNO and Genel Energy are investing in repairing damages from July 2025 drone attacks and planning further developments in the Tawke license.
