Global Anti-Scam Summit 2024 to Focus on Strategic Consumer Protections

Washington D.C. will host the Global Anti-Scam Summit (GASS) Americas 2024, organized by the Global Anti-Scam Alliance (GASA) and supported by Amazon.com, Inc. This event aims to counteract the rise of online scams, which caused losses of $1.026 billion globally in 2023. Over two days, experts will engage in more than 30 hours of strategic sessions to protect consumers and refine regulatory frameworks.

The first day will address human impacts and regulatory challenges, tackling victim consequences, legislative gaps, law enforcement collaboration, cybercrime data sharing, and bank roles. The second day will delve into industry-specific threats, focusing on financial services, telecom, digital experiences, blockchain, and cybersecurity.

Key speakers from UNODC, Google, and the U.S. Secret Service will contribute insights. The summit will unveil the Global State of Scams Report 2024, analyzing current trends and effects. Attendees can register at gasa.org/gass-2024-americas.
