Global Education Communities Corp. to Present at SHURE Conference in Vancouver

Global Education Communities Corp. ("GECC") announced its participation in the upcoming CAPRE's North American Investment for Student Housing & University Real Estate ("SHURE") Conference. Scheduled for March 26 and 27, 2024, at the Simon Fraser University Burnaby Campus, the conference will feature GECC's Chairman and CEO, Toby Chu, as a speaker.

Expected to attract over 225 firms, SHURE serves as a pivotal gathering for key players in Canada's student accommodation sector to engage in discussions and networking. Toby Chu will leverage his extensive background in international education and off-campus student housing development to address two sessions on March 27. His topics will include the exploration of secondary growth market opportunities and a comparison of on-campus versus off-campus student housing, among other subjects.

Chu aims to share insights gained from his decade-long experience in pioneering off-campus student accommodations in Western Canada. He will also discuss the challenges and opportunities within the student rental market, including the effects of rent control, interest rate hikes, inflation, and the current slowdown in rental development.
