Global Uranium Completes Remediation at Northwest Athabasca Property
Global Uranium Corp. has announced the successful completion of environmental remediation at the Northwest Athabasca Joint Venture Project. Located by Lake Athabasca in Saskatchewan, the project, in partnership with Geosyntec Consultants, aimed to address historical petroleum hydrocarbon impacts from past exploration activities.
Since 2021, significant progress has been made, with remaining soil contamination now confined to localized areas. Groundwater assessments showed no contamination, improving the site's environmental risk classification to "Not a Priority for Action." The program involved soil excavation, monitoring well installations, and comprehensive sampling.
Ungad Chadda, CEO, emphasized that this achievement demonstrates the joint venture’s commitment to environmental stewardship and sets the stage for future exploration. Monitoring will continue, with a winter drilling program planned to explore high-priority targets and expand the project's potential.
