GovMint Releases 10th Anniversary Wedge-Tailed Eagle Proofs in Collaboration with Perth Mint
GovMint, a prominent direct-to-consumer retailer of collectible coins, has unveiled the Tenth Anniversary 2024 Wedge-Tailed Eagles from Australia's Perth Mint. This release features a new design by John Mercanti, former 12th Chief Engraver of the U.S. Mint. It marks the continuation of a significant collaboration initiated in 2014, which was the first of its kind between a former U.S. Mint Chief Engraver and a foreign mint.
The 2024 edition introduces the first depiction of King Charles III on the obverse of the coins, along with a miniature of the 2014 original Wedge-Tailed Eagle design. Celebrating Perth Mint's 125th anniversary, these coins bear a unique "P125" mint mark rather than the traditional one. The designs are graded as Proof-70 Ultra Cameo by NGC and feature exclusivities like the Australian Flag label signed by Mercanti.
GovMint holds exclusive North American distribution rights for these coins, which are available in extremely limited quantities. Only 500 one-ounce gold and 1,000 five-ounce silver coins, along with 5,000 one-ounce silver proofs, have been minted.
