Grande Portage Highlights 120% Gold Grade Increase with Ore Sorting
Grande Portage Resources Ltd. has announced promising results from sensor-based ore sorting tests at its New Amalga Mine Project. Located near Juneau, the project sees a significant 120% increase in gold grade following successful testwork.
The tests used Steinert equipment to effectively separate unmineralized particles, leading to a 57% reduction in mass with minimal gold loss. The ore sorting process proved effective by enhancing the concentration of gold from 5.9 g/t to 12.9 g/t while rejecting 57% of the feed mass as waste.
The integration of ore sorting into the mine plan offers economic benefits by reducing transportation and processing needs, thus lowering costs per ounce. This advancement opens up potential for including thinner veins previously deemed nonviable into the mine plan.
