Grande Portage Resources Submits 2026 Drill Permit for New Amalga Project

Grande Portage Resources Ltd. has filed its 2026 Plan of Operations with the US Forest Service, aiming to proceed with drilling and fieldwork at the New Amalga Gold property in Southeast Alaska. The company plans up to 4,300 meters of diamond drilling from 14 drillholes, which will help improve resource classification and gather necessary geotechnical data for environmental review and mine development.

Key activities include geotechnical logging, piezometer installation, and packer testing to assess rock conditions and groundwater levels. The program marks a significant step in developing the New Amalga project, which has an Indicated Resource of 1,438,500 ounces of gold. The current mine plan foresees a small-footprint, underground operation with offsite processing, which eliminates the need for onsite milling facilities.
