Grandson Launches GoFundMe to Save 80-Year-Old, Widowed Grandmother’s Home
Living alone as an elderly widow presents numerous challenges. For 80-year-old Sherry Camilloni in Cattaraugus, NY, these issues have escalated following the collapse of her septic system, threatening her home's safety. To address this, her family has launched a GoFundMe campaign aiming to raise $25,000.
Sherry, who worked as a waitress and hairstylist, faces uninhabitable conditions as sewage infiltrates her 123-year-old home. Living solely on Social Security, she lacks the funds to replace the septic system.
"My grandmother's daily life has become nearly impossible," said her grandson, Jeremy Camilloni, urging communities to support. Donations will directly fund the septic system replacement and other necessary repairs.
The family plans to surprise Sherry with the success of the fundraiser, capturing her reaction on video. They appeal to everyone to donate and share her story.
