Granite Creek Copper Identifies New Zone in Yukon Mining Project
Granite Creek Copper Ltd. has announced promising results from its 2024 drilling campaign at the Carmacks copper-gold-silver project in central Yukon, Canada. Notably, a new mineralized zone, the Gap Zone, showed copper mineralization in all four drill holes. This zone, located between proposed pits, holds the potential to boost resources significantly, extending the mine's life as projected in the 2023 Preliminary Economic Assessment.
The Gap Zone, revealed through a 2022 geophysical survey, may add substantial tonnage, contributing to the project's overall growth. The Carmacks deposit currently hosts 824 Mlbs of Measured and Indicated copper equivalent within a high-grade resource.
CEO Timothy Johnson highlighted the site's prospective growth, with future exploration targeting untested areas and expansion across the 177 square kilometer property. Enhanced recovery rates and expanded resources are seen as potential drivers for increased project value.
