GREE Chairperson Dong Mingzhu Recognized for Sustainable Cooling Leadership
On September 18, 2026, Dong Mingzhu, Chairperson of GREE Electric Appliances, was awarded the inaugural “Cool Leaders” award by the UNEP Cool Coalition. This recognition, presented at the Global Cooling Pledge Assembly 2026 in Singapore, highlights her leadership in sustainable cooling amid rising global temperatures.
The UNEP Cool Coalition's initiative aims to assess and accelerate global cooling commitments post-COP28. Dong Mingzhu, one of the three inaugural awardees, is celebrated for her contributions to climate-friendly cooling solutions. Her leadership at GREE focuses on advancing technologies that improve energy efficiency and reduce carbon emissions.
GREE has developed the Zero Carbon Source technology, a smart energy system combining air conditioning with renewable energy, significantly reducing energy consumption. As a global home appliance leader, GREE is committed to sustainable practices, underscored by its 30.66% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions in 2025.
