Gurit Announces Progress in Strategic Realignment
On December 23, 2024, Gurit Holding AG updated its strategic realignment plans. The company aims to enhance its presence in the marine and industrial sectors while maintaining competitiveness in the wind market. Key changes include closing its kitting plant in Turkey by the end of 2024 and exiting non-competitive environments in the wind market in Europe, North America, India, and APAC, excluding China.
In the marine and industrial sectors, Gurit is expanding its footprint and replacing wood with recycled PET in certain markets. The company anticipates that these sectors will generate more than a third of total sales and over half of the adjusted operating profit by 2025.
Financially, Gurit expects restructuring and impairment expenses of around CHF 40 million, impacting the 2024 results. The company reaffirms its sales guidance of CHF 435 million for the full year.
