HDBank, the 1st Vietnamese Lender to Disclose Sustainability Report and Net-Zero Target

HDBank has published its Sustainability Report, becoming the first Vietnamese bank to do so in 2024 and committing to a net-zero emission target.

The 195-page report, "Green Thinking, Sustainable Growth," was prepared following Global Reporting Initiative standards. It provides comprehensive insights into the bank's environmental, social, and governance (ESG) strategies.

Mr. Kim Byoungho, chairman of HDBank’s board, emphasized the bank's commitment to creating societal value, safeguarding the environment, and building a sustainable future. The report aligns with the UN Sustainable Development Goals and aims for HDBank to be a Net Zero Bank.

HDBank's policies ensure financial inclusion, supporting SMEs, workers, farmers, small businesses, and low-income individuals. The bank’s modern digital platform has facilitated 94% of retail transactions, outpacing traditional channels in customer acquisition in 2023.

The bank is recognized for social responsibility initiatives and integrating ESG considerations into its risk management framework, earning it the title of "Best Place to Work in Asia" for six consecutive years.
