Health eCareers and AMSA Announce Partnership to Connect Medical Students with Research Opportunities

Health eCareers, a leading healthcare professional recruitment network in North America, has officially partnered with the American Medical Student Association (AMSA), aiming to bridge the gap between medical students and research opportunities. This collaboration introduces a comprehensive directory designed to simplify access to research positions across educational and societal institutions.

Ben Coan of Health eCareers emphasized the national concern over physician shortages, hoping this initiative would support the career progression of future healthcare professionals. Similarly, AMSA's CEO, Jamie Thayer Scates, highlighted the demand for a centralized research board among students and faculty, hoping to streamline the connection to research opportunities.

The partnership opens doors for organizations to promote their research opportunities to AMSA’s 30,000 members at no cost. Additionally, it lays the groundwork for a medical residency and specialty fair, enabling associations to detail the prospects of their specialties to aspiring physicians. This effort is envisioned to mitigate the impending physician shortages by informing students about various career paths in medicine.
