HOPIUM optimizes its 100 kW stack and develops an even 15% lighter version
Paris, September 12, 2024 – HOPIUM (FR0014000U63 – ALHPI), a company specializing in the decarbonization of heavy-duty transportation, has reached a new milestone in the development of its 100 kW fuel cell. Thanks to its advanced engineering, HOPIUM has succeeded in reducing the mass of its cell by 15%, bringing its total weight to less than 25 kg, without compromising its performance.
The improvements come mainly from the design of the end plates and the clamping system. These advances were achieved thanks to digital twins developed by the company's R&D teams, allowing virtual optimization before physical application.
Stéphane Rabatel, CEO of HOPIUM, expressed his satisfaction by stating that this progress strengthens the company's position in the field of decarbonization of heavy transport. Road tests are planned for this fall 2024, with the marketing of the first batteries envisaged as early as early 2025.
