HRS Secures €3.1 Million in Funding for Its Unique Hydrogen Mobility Test Area in Europe

HRS, a leading designer and manufacturer of hydrogen refueling stations in Europe, headquartered in Grenoble, France, has announced a promising development for hydrogen mobility. The company has successfully secured €3.1 million from major bank financing to support its test area dedicated to hydrogen refueling, marking a significant milestone in the sector. This financial achievement, majorly backed by BPI and SOMUDIMEC, brought together its banking partners including BNP PARIBAS, CREDIT COOPERATIF, LCL, and SG AUVERGNE RHÔNE ALPES from the Société Générale Group.

The initiation of this funding will expedite the completion of HRS's test zone—distinct in Europe for its advanced facilities and real-life condition experiments, enhancing the development of heavy-duty hydrogen mobility. It features two green hydrogen refilling stations, an operational HRS14 station and an HRS40 station capable of delivering 1 tonne/day of hydrogen, expected to be operational in the first half of 2024. This test area resides within HRS's new 14,300 m2 industrial complex aimed at fostering collaborative R&D in hydrogen refueling efficiency and global deployment.

Hassen Rachedi, HRS's CEO, emphasized the project's role in innovating hydrogen mobility and its contribution towards the future of large-capacity hydrogen filling stations. Financial partners also voiced their support, highlighting HRS's contribution to decarbonizing transport and the broader aim of environmental sustainability.
