IBU-tec Collaborates with Hosokawa Alpine on Battery Recycling Pilot Plant

IBU-tec advanced materials AG, a leader in battery recycling, has partnered with machinery manufacturer Hosokawa Alpine to establish a pilot plant at their Weimar headquarters. IBU-tec contributes its expertise in efficient recycling processes, while Hosokawa Alpine supplies the necessary machinery, including mills suitable for processing battery materials.

The collaboration anticipates strong market growth in battery recycling, with projections indicating a CAGR of over 50% until 2032. This growth is partly driven by the EU Battery Regulation, requiring recycled materials in manufacturing new battery systems.

Jörg Leinenbach, CEO of IBU-tec, emphasized the importance of the partnership in strengthening their position in the growing battery recycling market, which is vital for industry and environmental sustainability.
