Ilmor and GM Marine Riverfront Experience Returns for the 2024 Detroit Grand Prix
Ilmor Engineering and GM Marine will reactivate Detroit's riverfront for the 2024 Detroit Grand Prix. The event, scheduled for the weekend of June 2, will feature the Ilmor Dock Experience in collaboration with GM Marine at the Detroit Wayne County Port Authority docks.
Visitors will have the opportunity to see boats powered by Ilmor, including the Aviara AV36 and AV40, and the MasterCraft X24 and X26. This year, a new large LED wall facing the river will display race coverage for passing boats.
The Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix, presented by Lear, returns to Detroit's streets for the first time since 1991. The race will take place on a 1.7-mile street circuit with challenging turns and a long straight on Jefferson Avenue.
Mike Lindberg, Vice President of Ilmor Marine, expressed enthusiasm for the event, emphasizing the triumph of the previous year's race. Tony Brower of GM Powered Solutions highlighted the showcase of high-performance engineering at the event.
