Inaugural Smart Lighting Expo Ignites Future of Lighting Innovation

The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) announces the first-ever Smart Lighting Expo highlighting the evolution of lighting from traditional illumination to a cornerstone of smart living and well-being. Scheduled to occur from April 6 to April 9, 2024, alongside the 15th HKTDC Hong Kong International Lighting Fair (Spring Edition), this event underlines the theme "Bright Lighting * Smart Living". Gathering over 1,300 exhibitors from seven countries, the fairs aim to showcase the latest in lighting technology and innovative products.

The global smart lighting market is experiencing significant growth, forecasted to reach US$25.3 billion in 2024. A recent HKTDC survey indicates a positive outlook, with 41% of participants expecting sales increases and 30% pointing to smart lighting as a key growth driver. This surge underscores the potential within the smart lighting segment, from IoT-enabled devices to intelligent control systems and solutions.

Exhibitors, such as Mindstec Asia and Liricco Technologies from Hong Kong, among others, will present advanced solutions ranging from energy-saving LED tubes with motion sensors to universal smart ceiling lights compatible with various smart home platforms. These demonstrate the industry's move towards integrating advanced technologies for enhancing modern living spaces.

Concurrently, the Spring Lighting Fair will continue to be a vital business platform for the lighting industry. Additionally, forums at the fairs will offer insights into current trends and future developments in lighting technology, emphasizing human-centric and sustainable lighting design.
