Increasing Credit Limit to $100 Million, HDBank and Proparco Promote Climate Finance and 2X Challenge Initiative

HDBank and Proparco have signed a credit facility worth $50 million, bringing the total credit available to HDBank to $100 million. This deal was formalized in Ho Chi Minh City on September 16. The funds will be used to finance climate projects and support women-owned businesses under the 2X Challenge program, which aims to promote gender equality and sustainable development.

HDBank and Proparco have a history of cooperation, including a $50 million credit facility granted in August 2021 for renewable energy projects in Vietnam. HDBank serves as a bridge between Vietnamese enterprises and Proparco to encourage global sustainable development.

This new credit agreement is seen as a testament to HDBank's commitment to ESG standards. HDBank published its first Sustainability Report in 2024 and established an ESG Committee. The bank has been recognized by international organizations for its contributions to green credit and sustainable development, including the Green Deal Award from the Asian Development Bank.
