INDUS Enhances Engineering Portfolio with Acquisition of COLSON X-Cel
INDUS Holding AG has announced the acquisition of COLSON X-Cel Ltd, a move aimed at bolstering its Engineering segment. COLSON X-Cel, located in Rotherham, South Yorkshire, specializes in the development and production of industrial valves for the measurement and control of liquids and gases. This acquisition enables Pneumatic Components Ltd (PCL), a subsidiary of INDUS-owned HORNGROUP, to strengthen its offerings in fluid technology. COLSON, with a workforce of about 40, generates annual sales of approximately EUR 7 million.
Axel Meyer, from INDUS Board of Management, highlighted that COLSON's integration complements the company's current fluid technology portfolio, including brands like FLACO, PCL, and TECALEMIT. The acquisition aligns with INDUS's internationalisation strategy, emphasizing "local for local" manufacturing, and aims at responding quickly to customer demands with short delivery times for small batch sizes. Meyer noted that COLSON's strong UK market position and growth potential in North America and the Middle East made it a valuable addition to INDUS's portfolio.
Joerg F. Mayer, Managing Director of HORNGROUP, and Andrew Taylor, previous owner of COLSON, both expressed optimism about the future collaboration and synergies between COLSON and PCL. They emphasized the geographical and operational advantages of this partnership, hoping to expand market reach and capitalize on new opportunities, particularly in environmental and energy technology sectors.
