Irving Resources Appoints Former Canadian Ambassador to Japan as a Director
Irving Resources Inc. has announced the appointment of Mackenzie Clugston, former Canadian Ambassador to Japan, as an independent director. Mr. Clugston has been a strategic advisor to Irving since April 2019. His experience includes over three decades in the Canadian Foreign Service, with significant postings in Japan and Indonesia.
Mr. Clugston's diplomatic career spanned from 1982 to 2016. He served in Tokyo three times, including roles as Minister and Head of Chancery, and was the Consul General in Osaka. His tenure as Ambassador to Japan was from 2012 to 2016. After retiring, he joined boards of major Japanese corporations and taught at Kwansei Gakuin University.
According to Akiko Levinson, President and CEO of Irving Resources, Clugston's expertise in international relations will support Irving's gold exploration projects in Japan, particularly its collaborations with JX Advanced Metals and Newmont Corporation.
