Ivanhoe Electric Announces Exceptional Copper-Gold-Silver Discovery at Montana's Hog Heaven Project
Ivanhoe Electric Inc. revealed remarkable findings from its latest drilling operation at the Hog Heaven project in Montana. Drill hole HHD-014 showcased an 82-meter intersection containing 0.63% copper, 0.32 g/t gold, and 37.8 g/t silver, marking the company's best copper-gold-silver intersection to date at this site. Furthermore, a high-grade vein within this zone demonstrated 3.95 meters of 5.78% copper, 2.2 g/t gold, and 264.7 g/t silver. This discovery, positioned over 500 meters west of the historical Flathead Mine, underscores the project's vast potential, remaining open in several directions.
The drilling success at Hog Heaven builds upon previous findings, illustrating a mineralization strike length of at least 800 meters around the Northern edge of the Flathead Diatreme. Executives at Ivanhoe Electric highlighted these results as positive indicators of a significant copper-rich discovery within an underexplored region. Additionally, the company emphasized the use of its TyphoonTM survey in guiding further drilling activities.
These findings at Hog Heaven are part of a broader initiative by Ivanhoe Electric to explore and develop sites rich in critical metals across the United States. The project demonstrates not only the high-sulfidation epithermal mineralization but also suggests the potential identification of an underlying porphyry source. Ivanhoe Electric continues its exploration with further drilling planned to expand the known mineralization zones.
