Jake O'Brien's Transfer to Everton
Olympique Lyonnais has announced the transfer of Irish international defender Jake O'Brien to Everton for €19.5 million, with an additional 10% interest on potential future transfers.
O'Brien joined Lyon last summer from Crystal Palace after a successful loan at RWD Molenbeek, where he contributed to winning the Belgian second division championship. He quickly became a vital component in Lyon's defense, making 32 appearances and scoring 5 goals, becoming the club's second-highest scorer this season.
His performances earned him a call-up to Ireland's national team, debuting in June against Hungary and later starting against Portugal.
