Chinese Copper Art Firm Makes Waves at Florence Fair

During the 89th Florence International Handicraft Fair in Italy, held from April 25 to May 1, Tongshifu, a Jiande-based company, garnered attention for its exquisite copper artworks. Among over 530 exhibitors, Tongshifu stood out with pieces like the sculpture of Bumblebee from "Transformers", which showcased high artistry through traditional lost-wax copper casting integrated with modern aesthetics.

Tongshifu's success highlights Jiande's dedication to cultural enterprise growth. In 2014, the company faced challenges, but with local government support, it secured funds aiding its development. Recognized as an intangible cultural heritage, Tongshifu's techniques are a testament to cultural preservation and innovation.

Through design competitions and collaborations, Jiande fosters traditional techniques in modern contexts. Now, Tongshifu is a brand with substantial sales and a significant following, celebrated for its cultural and artistic contributions on a global stage.
