Kinross to Initiate Drilling on BTU Metals' Dixie Halo Project

BTU Metals Corp. has announced that Kinross Gold Corporation plans to start an extensive core drilling program on BTU's Dixie Halo (DH) project in May 2025. This project, adjacent to the Great Bear gold deposits in Ontario, is under option to Kinross through its subsidiary Great Bear Resources Ltd. (GBR).

Kinross, having shifted to regional exploration, has received permits for approximately 8,000 meters of core drilling on the DH property. This exploration is part of Kinross' strategy to uncover new open pit and underground deposits.

The option agreement with GBR requires them to invest $2.7 million in the first three years and potentially $4.7 million to earn a 70% interest in the DH property. BTU CEO Paul Wood expressed optimism about Kinross' expertise in gold mineralization and the potential for discovering new gold areas.
