Reduction in Forecast Transparency Among DAX 40 Companies

Kirchhoff Consult and DSW have reported a slight decline in forecast transparency among DAX 40 companies. Only 14 companies achieved high transparency this year, compared to 18 last year. The number of companies with medium transparency increased from 17 to 23. Sartorius remains the only company with low forecast transparency. Best practices in transparency were noted in reports from Deutsche Telekom and Fresenius.

The study, reflecting forecasts from 2024, highlights an overall dip in forecast quality. With unpredictable market conditions, companies seem less willing to offer precise forecasts. Still, 35 companies quantified Group earnings forecasts, marking a slight increase. However, deeper financial and non-financial metrics remain less emphasized in transparency.
