Knorr-Bremse Issues First Green Bond

Knorr-Bremse Aktiengesellschaft has issued a dual-tranche bond, raising 1,100 million Euro. The transaction comprises a notable first Green Bond, emphasizing the company's commitment to sustainability.

The 8-year tranche, valued at 500 million Euro, will fund green projects. It supports clean transportation, renewable energy, energy efficiency, and green buildings. This initiative was positively evaluated by Moody’s, which confirmed its alignment with international Green Bond principles.

The 5-year tranche, totaling 600 million Euro, will serve general corporate purposes, including partially refinancing the 2025 bond maturity and financing an acquisition in the rail signaling sector.

The bond issuance attracted significant investor interest, highlighting confidence in Knorr-Bremse’s sustainability-focused strategy, as noted by CFO Frank Markus Weber.
