Launch of the First Cloud Gaming Service in West Africa
On February 12, 2025, the Sonatel group, affiliated with Orange, and Netgem, a specialist in digital entertainment, announced the launch of "Wido Games, powered by Pleio", the first Cloud Gaming platform in West Africa. This innovative service allows Sonatel customers to access console-type video games without requiring expensive equipment, simply via a smartphone thanks to the power of Sonatel's 5G network.
This launch marks a major milestone for the Sonatel group, which has already invested 263 billion FCFA in the development of its network. In partnership with Netgem, which brings its proven technology and a rich catalog of content, Sonatel offers a new opportunity to local game developers.
Wido Games offers a flexible subscription model with daily, weekly or monthly options, promising a seamless and immersive gaming experience.
