Leclanché Launches World's First Li-ion Cell with Echion Technologies' XNO®

Leclanché SA has introduced XN50, the first lithium-ion cell featuring Echion Technologies' XNO® niobium-based anode materials. The cell aims to provide a new option for rail, marine, and mining sectors, with an estimated cycle life of over 10,000 cycles.

This cell is the result of a Joint Development Agreement between Leclanché and Echion Technologies, focused on creating sustainable solutions. The XN50 offers 50% higher energy density compared to LTO technologies, fast charging capabilities, and maintains high performance in extreme conditions.

Pierre Blanc, CEO of Leclanché, stated that XN50 will replace its LTO offering, complementing the company's existing products. Echion Technologies' CEO, Jean de La Verpilliere, highlighted the collaboration's success in creating a high-performance, environmentally friendly battery.
