Lenzing AG and Speyer & Grund Complete Sustainable Supply Project
Lenzing AG, a leader in cellulose fiber production, has announced the completion of a new acetic acid storage tank in collaboration with Speyer & Grund. This project marks a significant milestone in their long-term partnership and enhances their sustainable supply chain capabilities.
Located in Meerane, Germany, the storage facility will exclusively house LENZING™ Acetic Acid Biobased, a by-product of pulp production. The increased capacity allows for greater flexibility and more reliable logistics in the supply chain.
Elisabeth Stanger, Lenzing's Senior Director, emphasized the importance of the partnership with Speyer & Grund in advancing sustainable supply chain practices. The initiative signifies growth and improved logistics for Speyer & Grund's operations.
LENZING™ Acetic Acid Biobased has a significantly lower carbon footprint compared to its fossil-based counterpart. It is utilized in various industries, including food, pharmaceuticals, and textiles. The ceremonial opening of the new facility took place on April 10, 2025.
