Leadership Changes at Lonza Group AG

Lonza Group AG has announced significant leadership changes, effective October 1, 2025. Jason Berndt will join as the new Head of Group Operations and Executive Vice President, becoming a member of the Executive Committee. He takes over from Maria Soler Nunez, who will transition to the newly established role of Chief Quality Officer, also an Executive Vice President, and continue as a member of the Executive Committee.

This strategic move recognizes the essential role of quality at Lonza, elevating it to the executive committee level. Berndt brings over two decades of global operations experience, having previously served at Bristol-Myers Squibb and Teva Pharmaceuticals. Soler Nunez, with her deep understanding of Lonza’s operations since 2022, will now focus on maintaining top quality standards across the company’s global network.

These appointments exemplify Lonza’s dedication to strengthening its operational and quality foundations for future growth. CEO Wolfgang Wienand has expressed confidence in both leaders to propel the company forward in its pursuit of excellence.
