LUCIBEL Illuminates Charlie Dalin’s Victories

LUCIBEL, specialist in lighting technologies, collaborated with skipper Charlie Dalin to create an innovative lighting system for the IMOCA MACIF Santé Prévoyance. This device played a key role in Dalin's recent victory during the Transat New York Vendée.

Dalin, a talented naval architect and skipper, has achieved prestigious successes, including the Transat Jacques-Vabre in 2019 and a second place in the 2020-2021 Vendée Globe. In 2023, LUCIBEL supported Dalin by optimizing its human and technical performance.

The LUCIBEL teams have designed a tailor-made light to regulate the browser's sleep-wake alternation, crucial for its performance. The technology combines specific LEDs to promote falling asleep and alertness, based on research by sleep specialist Dr. François Duforez.

Frédéric Granotier, CEO of LUCIBEL, highlighted the opportunity to collaborate with Dalin to test their expertise in a demanding environment. Dalin expressed his satisfaction with this innovation which optimizes the quality of sleep and alertness while racing.

This partnership, strengthened by Dalin's victory, prepares the skipper and LUCIBEL for the 2024 Vendée Globe.
